1920s Art Deco Gold Metallic Lace Flapper Dress with Fringe & Beading, c. 1924–1928
------------------------------
At a glance
------------------------------
An exceptional original 1920s evening dress, dating to approximately 1924–1928. It is designed with shimmering gold metallic lace and intricate Art Deco patterning.
The silhouette is sleek and fluid, with a softly dropped waist and architectural paneling that moves beautifully with the body.

Design
------------------------------
-Neckline is finished with long, fine fringe, designed to sway and catch the light with every step.
-Throughout the dress are sequins and beadwork, all original and intact, adding depth and sparkle without overwhelming the design.
-At the sides, long gold embroidered panels are finished with decorative tassel details. These provide a sophisticated couture touch rarely seen on surviving examples.
-Long side opening is hidden behind the right panel.
-The sequins on the upper bodice are mode of gold gelatin.
- The metallic lace forms bold geometric motifs—chevrons, diamonds, and Deco scrollwork—set against a dark ground, creating striking contrast and unmistakable Jazz Age drama. This is not a costume piece, but a true period garment made for evening wear, dancing, and movement.
-To top it off, intricate gold lace with silver accents

Flat measurements:
------------------------------
Length - 44" (max)
Bodice - 26"
Underarm to underarm in front - 18"
Waist - 34"
Hips - 38"
A note: this dress came from a Manhattan family, whose great grandmother was a performer (a club singer). The gown was clearly designed to catch the spotlight and public attention.
This is the Jazz Age at its most luminous.
