Vintage 1940s high-end blue wool Gabardine jacket M.
In the 1930s and 40s, gabardine was considered to be one of the most valuable wool textiles. It was celebrated for its very tight weave that made it water resistant and was considered extremely durable.
Its durability is obvious: 80 years later this stylish piece is still fresh, strong and elegant.
- Perfectly performed intricate details, ideal seams and finish - marks of high-level craftsmanship, hardly known today.
- Blue silk crepe lining, four stylish buttons with handmade buttonholes, two side pockets.
- The jacket has an extra button hole on the top, a traditional style .Waisted, with wide, padded shoulders which make the waist look even smaller.
Condition: great. No discoloration, no underarm issues, no moth bites. The silk lining has a small "scratched" area.
Flat measurements:
Length - 27"
Shoulders - 17"
Underarm to underarm in front - 17"
Waist - 28"
Sleeve - 22"
